According to one definition, "Corporate Social Responsibility is achieving commercial success in ways that honor ethical values and respect for people, communities and the natural environment”. A company should aim to go beyond the narrow confines of the quarterly report and the bottom line. It must view its relationships with shareholders and stakeholders, customers,  employees, government, community groups and suppliers, in a wider social and ethical context.

 
CSR is one of the pillars of good governance for any business enterprise. It is an integral part of business strategy and should permeate throughout the organization and across supply chains. A n M takes its corporate social responsibility very seriously.
 
Some of the steps we have taken to shoulder our responsibilities as a good corporate citizen include:
 
Charity
Every month A n M shares a percentage of company’s profit with the society as a gesture of help for people in need, for relief funds and for welfare.
 
People Practices

A n M's biggest asset is its people, popularly known as the A n M family. The company's philosophy and HR policies aim at high levels of engagement, empowerment and commitment, not only to realize business aims but also to contribute to the larger social good.

The HR initiatives include:

  Employee Feedback
 
We value what our employees think about the organization. A n M regularly conduct Satisfaction Surveys whose objectives are:
      To measure the satisfaction levels of all members
•    To evolve and update HR-related policies
•    To look into areas of improvement and help individuals perform better and achieve their goals
   
  Extensive Training
 
A n M provides platform for training programs for its employees on a regular basis to enable them to reach their full potential and serve customers better. These include technical and functional training, skill-building, personality development, cross-cultural training and training in customer service.
   
  Events & Activities
 
Extra-curricular events, in which all members take part, are an integral part of the A n M culture. These not only helps build relationships across functions, departments and hierarchies, they also enable them to share information. These events also reinforce the values of the organization.

One such event is the Quarterly Meeting, for which attendance is mandatory. Of course, this is not strictly extra-curricular – it's a great mix of fun and serious work. Senior managers share information about the company and projects and address employees on important issues. On the fun side, employees are encouraged to participate in games and other events that are held. These events reinforce team spirit at the company.

Another event is the annual picnic, which is a great way for employees of A n M and their families to get together in an informal environment. We travel together, and stay together overnight at a great location, usually in a five-star resort. The idea is to reinforce the value of respect for the individual.
   
  Recognition and Awards
 
A n M has a host of reward and recognition programs (individual and team awards) that honor performance as well as the right attitudes and values. These include:
 
   Attitude awards like `Popular choice award' for going the extra mile in work situations,  including      serving the client
•   Best Employee Award for outstanding service to customer (for both individuals and teams)
•   Best Disciplined Employee
•   Project Managers and other Team Leaders are encouraged to felicitate their teams during the      quarterly Meets, at which all employees are present
 
Environment Protection

A n M belongs to an industry where the products and their production processes may generate industrial waste or emissions. Regulations governing air pollution are applicable to the context in which the company operates. Even so, A n M takes care to avoid any kind of environmental pollution through its actions.

Within workplaces, A n M uses furniture, equipment and products of superior brands which comply with environment-friendly specifications. Computers no longer in use at workplaces are donated or put to proper use or even disposed of in environmentally safe ways.

At Dubai  Scrap Trading we are a part of a global eco friendly intiative for environment-friendly recycling of metal scrap.

 
  •   Conserves the world’s resources by transforming end-of-life goods into highly valuable secondary      raw materials that can be fed back into the manufacturing process.
•   Protects the environment by preventing end-of-life goods from being consigned to landfill.      Furthermore, potentially useful materials would become hazards rather than being retained as      resources.
•   Expends far less energy than production based on primary raw materials.
